Scripture Reading: Psalm 114:1-4
When Israel went out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language; Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion. The sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs.
Reflection: Nothing could withstand them as they journeyed from Egypt to Canaan, their promised land. Even the Red Sea and the Jordan river had to divide into two to grant them access. The Psalmist words ‘ the sea saw it, and fled: Jordan was driven back. The mountains skipped like rams, and the little hills like lambs’ captures the unstoppable nature of Israel as they traveled in a more exciting way! What was their secret ? The Psalmist lays it bear as- ‘Judah was his sanctuary, and Israel his dominion’. They were God’s sanctuary and his dominion! When you become God’s sanctuary and his dominion, nothing can ever withstand you. Sanctuary speaks of a place or life set apart for holiness while dominion speaks of sovereign rule and utmost power. Thus when you choose to make your life a sanctuary for God, his sovereign rule begins to speak for you. In this state all of creation cannot withstand you. You become unstoppable in your journey of life. Choose to make yourself a sanctuary for God and He will make your life his dominion!
Prayer: Lord prepare me to be a sanctuary -pure and holy for you.
Confession: I am God’s sanctuary. I have become His dominion. I am unstoppable. Nothing can withstand me!
