Scripture Reading: 2 Samuel 23:1-2
Now these be the last words of David. David the son of Jesse said, and the man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel, said,The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.

Reflection: The opening words of the book of 2nd Samuel chapter 23 speaks volumes about what life is all about. The words ‘Now these be the last words of David’ which refers to the end of David’s life indicates that man does not live forever on this earth. Once born, there will be a time when you will exit. Secondly the statement ‘The man who was raised up on high, the anointed of the God of Jacob, and the sweet psalmist of Israel’ is a summary of the life of David. It speaks about David growing up to know God, walking with him and discovering and living his life’s purpose of ruling as a King and writing and singing Psalms. This defines life. It is all about discovering who God is, having a relationship with Him and executing your divine purpose! David has set a fine example for us to follow. Keep your relationship with God going strong and live to discover and fulfill your life’s purpose.
