Sunday, 24th July 2016: Your life must not end up as a meal for the fowler!

Scripture Reading: Psalm 124:6-8
Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Reflection: The Psalmist is thankful that God did not allow his life to be given as a prey to the teeth of the fowler. The fowler’s snare, according to him , had been broken by the power of God, making it possible for his soul to escape. A fowler is a professional bird catcher. He uses snares ( traps) to catch birds. Once trapped, the bird ends up as a meal for the fowler. The devil is classified as a fowler who operates with snares. His snare however can be broken by God so that you can escape before you become the next meal in his teeth. For this reason your life must not end up as a meal for any ‘fowler’. Resist that fowler and break any snare of his that holds you captive in Jesus name. Your life will certainly not end up as a meal for any ‘fowler’!

Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that by your provisions, my life will not be given as a prey to the teeth of my enemies.

Confession: My life will never end up as a prey in the teeth of my enemies. I break any snare around my life in Jesus’s .
