Sunday, 24th April 2016: Don’t keep your mouth shut!

Scripture Reading: Eziekiel 37:7
So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.

Reflection: What a valley full of dry bones, Ezekiel might have said to himself. Suddenly he heard God asked him, ‘can these bones live ?’. All he could say back was ‘well, you are the only one who knows’! He is then moved into action by God. His mandate was to prophesy over the dry bones. To prophesy means to open your mouth and speak/declare what God has said with all confidence. As Eziekiel prophesied, he beheld a glorious sight! There was a noise of rattling as the bones got together and metamorphosed into living souls. Dry bones can represent hopeless conditions. When confronted with any such condition, remember that just like Ezekiel, it is time to prophesy. Prophesy on the basis of the written word of God which speaks to that particular condition. You are the next Eziekiel in town! Dry bones are waiting to hear your voice. Don’t keep your mouth shut!

Prayer: I take up the responsibility and the mandate to prophesy God’s word into conditions in my life and that of others in the name of Jesus.

Confession: I refuse to keep my mouth shut. I prophesy over any adverse condition in my life. You conditions contrary to the will of God in my life, hear ye the word of Lord: Every knee shall bow and every tongue shall confess the Lordship of Christ. Begin to confess the Lordship of Christ right now as you bow out of my life!
