Scripture Reading: 2Kings 5: 11
And Elisha sent a messenger unto him, saying, Go and wash in Jordan seven times, and thy flesh shall come again to thee, and thou shalt be clean. But Naaman was wroth, and went away, and said, Behold, I thought, He will surely come out to me, and stand, and call on the name of the LORD his God, and strike his hand over the place, and recover the leper.
Reflections: Naaman, a respected military commander, anticipated his own way of encountering a grand and dramatic healing from the prophet Elisha. Instead, Elisha simply instructed him to wash in the Jordan River seven times. This unexpected and seemingly contrary command left Naaman feeling angry and disappointed, causing him to storm off in frustration. However, his servants intervened, urging him to follow the prophet’s instructions despite his initial reluctance. Eventually, Naaman agreed and did as he was told. Remarkably, as soon as he washed in the Jordan seven times, his leprosy was completely healed. Like Naaman, your breakthrough may not come in the way you expect. Trusting and obeying God’s word, even when it seems unusual, will unlock the miracle He has for you.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help trust in your word and directions for my breakthrough.
Confession: I trust in God’s word and his directive for my breakthrough.
