Scripture Reading: Esther 6:10
Then the king said to Haman, Make haste, and take the apparel and the horse, as thou hast said, and do even so to Mordecai the Jew, that sitteth at the king’s gate: let nothing fail of all that thou hast spoken.
Reflections: Mordecai was an avowed Jew who feared the Lord. Haman hated him so much for this that he even planned to have him killed. To execute his intentions, he visited the King to secure approval. Unknowing to him, the king had sought to reward Mordecai the night before for his act of loyalty which had foiled up a planned palace coup sometime back. Pleased to see Haman in his palace at the time he needed this crucial information on reward, the king proceeded to ask him immediately for his opinion on what package could be given to someone who proves himself to be a kingdom loyalist. Thinking the king had him in mind, Haman outlined a glamorous package. To his utter shock, he was ordered by the king to administer his proposed package to Mordecai. God, in this turn of events, had proven Himself to be on the side of Mordecai, bringing an end to all hostilities he had been facing. He had arranged this whole royal meeting that will lead to Mordecai’s freedom and the humiliation of his enemy, Haman. Like Mordecai, you may find yourself in an environment of hatred in life but God will put up a plan to free you. He will prove Himself to be the God who has the final say!
Prayer: Dear Lord, let it be known that you have the final say in my life.
Confession: My enemies shall be humiliated while I end up being promoted in life.
