Saturday, 9th November 2019: Remain a vessel to be used by God alone and for His purposes alone!

Scripture Reading: John 6:15
When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.

Reflections: They numbered five thousand besides the women and children. They were held stunned as the five loaves of bread and two fishes were distributed amongst them without ever getting finished. They knew they had found exactly what they needed in a man to achieve political independence. Immediately they began planning an investiture process to install Him as king. With his miraculous powers, they knew Jesus will easily overthrow the Roman hegemony. Unfortunately for them, Jesus, who knew he should not allow anybody to use him for any purpose that contravenes the will of God, had seen through their plans. Swiftly, he slips out of the whole plot and secretly sets off to a destination unknown to them. Their plan was totally foiled up. In life, people may cunningly and wittingly try to use you on the basis of your skills, gift, talents, abilities etc. To achieve their own personal vendettas against others but like Jesus, you must see through it and make your way out swiftly! Remain a vessel to be used by God alone and for His purposes alone!

Prayer: Dear Lord, give me what it takes to keep myself away from people who will want to use me to achieve their selfish desires.

Confession: I see through people. I do not allow myself to be used by them to do what God has not ordained.
