Scripture Reading: Psalm 84: 5-6. Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them. Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools. They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
Reflections: The Psalmist speaks of the exploits of a person who derives his strength from God. He includes information on a number of ways on how one can be effectively positioned to keep connected to the flow of divine strength. After pointing us to the need to have one’s heart fixed on the ways of God, he introduces us to another strategy derived from the scenario of the traveller who got to a valley named Baca and turned it into a well. By all indications there were initial difficulties posed by this valley to get the traveller frustrated but he/she held on. This paved the way for the activation of divine strength which enabled the traveller to create a well out of the valley to address the challenges at hand. Holding on in the midst of challenges allows God to infuse you with the needed divine strength to keep you soaring above limitations. Keep holding on!
Prayer: Dear Lord, give me the grace to withstand frustrations.
Confession: I hold on! I give room for divine strength to operate in my life.
