Saturday, 9th April 2016: You can be the source of divine blessings for your own life, for others and for posterity!

Scripture Reading: Deuteronomy 9:6
Understand therefore, that the LORD thy God giveth thee not this good land to possess it for thy righteousness; for thou art a stiffnecked people

Reflection: The people of Israel were excited they were being led by God to possess great cities flowing with ‘milk and honey’. Moses was quick to draw their attention to why they were about to enjoy such a blessing. Interestingly, it was not because of their righteousness since they were noted to be a stubborn people. It was rather as a result of God’s blessings pronounced upon their forefather, Abraham. So for his obedience, Abraham got blessed in his life time. People around him in his days such as Lot, his nephew also benefitted from this blessing. Generations after him were also connected to his blessings. What a ‘transcending’ blessing! Your obedience to God can earn you such a place of extraordinary blessing. To obey means ‘ to comply with an order or submit to authority’. How well do you obey God? His word should be your standard. You can be the source of divine blessings for your own life, for others and for posterity! Remain resolute in your obedience to God!You are the next ‘Abraham’!

Prayer: Oh Lord help me to be obedient to your word!

Confession: I refuse to be disobedient to God’s will for my life. I resist all efforts to make me disobedient to HIS word. By my obedience to God, I will be blessed. This blessing will affect people around me and my posterity!
