Scripture Reading: Psalm 114:7-8
Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob; Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.
Reflections: The journey had been long and tiring. At this point in the wilderness, they needed water badly to quench their thirst. But within their sight was only a rock which was so irrelevant to their needs. What they needed was a fountain of water to quench the thirst of the entire nation. As Moses prayed to God for a divine intervention, God turned his attention to the seemingly irrelevant rock. Command water to come out of it, God tells Moses. As Moses complied, the rock produced a fountain of water to address the needs of the multitude! (Exodus 17:5-6). All things are possible with God! What is irrelevant and insignificant around you can be used by God to address your need. Indeed at a time of need, a ‘rock’ in your life can become your ‘fountain of water’.
Prayer: Oh Lord, you are wonderful. All things are possible with you. Let me encounter a supernatural miracle which turns my life around. Yes, let me see a ‘rock’ in my life becoming my source of ‘drinking water’.
Confession: All things are possible with my God. A ‘rock’ in my life is being turned around into ‘a fountain of water’. My needs are met supernaturally by God!
