Until the spirit be poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness be a fruitful field, and the fruitful field be counted for a forest

Reflections: The prophet Isaiah speaks concerning the future of Israel at a time when Israel wallowed in apostasy and was going through difficult times. In the message, we deduce the instrumental role of the Holy Spirit in our lives. We get to understand that until the Holy Spirit pours out His power over lives and conditions, a turn around for the better can never take place. Speaking in metaphorical language, Isaiah describes the effects of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit as transforming a ‘wilderness into a fruitful field and a fruitful field into a forest’. Don’t rule out the Holy Spirit as the transforming agent of your life. By Him, your wilderness too will become a fruitful field, and your fruitful field a forest!

Prayer: Dear Holy Spirit, let me experience the outpouring of your power!
