Scripture Reading: John 2:5
His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it
Reflection: The supply of wine at the wedding run out. This threatened the joyous mood of the celebrations. The organizers were at their wits end but one of the guests (Jesus Christ) was not. He came to their rescue. Fill all the water Jars with water and begin to serve the guests from the Jars, Jesus tells them. This sounded absurd but the organizers yielded to his instructions. They remembered they had been told by Mary, Jesus mother to do just as Jesus will instruct. Amazingly, the water turned into wine as they drew it out of the Jars to serve the guests. Besides, the taste of this new wine was just incomparable to the previous one. It was the best the guests had ever tasted! Wine figuratively speaks of joy. Sometimes the joy of our lives can come under threat and appear to run out. Whenever your ‘wine’ in life runs out, turn to the Lord in prayer. Listen as you pray and Whatever he tells you to do, just do it! Your joy will surely bounce back!
Prayer: Thank you Lord for your power which ensures that I will not be robbed of joy in my life. Let my joy in life be restored oh God!
Confession: I live by the word of God. I do as the word says. I am restored of the joy of my life by the power of the word. Whatever threatens the joy of my life is overthrown by the authority of the word of God in the name of Jesus.
