Scripture Reading: Numbers 24:10
And Balak’s anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together: and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times.
Reflections: A curse is a supernaturally-backed omen initiated by utterances. Those who come under its influence are restricted and afflicted. Moab’s King Balak requested Balaam to curse Israel. As Israel entered his territory, he felt threatened. Balaam, however, found himself blessing Israel every time he spoke. This occurred three times, which infuriated Balak. He yelled and pounded his hands at Balaam as he demanded that he cease speaking. The nefarious plot failed dismally. Israel’s God proved too much for him and Balaam’s spiritual strength. God indeed surpasses all spiritual powers. Like Israel, He will defend you and bring your enemies into frustration!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that you will demonstrate that you are my defence.
Confession: God is my defence .
