Saturday, 7th January 2017: Don’t ever think that your thoughts are with you alone!

Scripture Reading: Dan 2:29
As for thee, O king, thy thoughts came into thy mind upon thy bed, what should come to pass hereafter: and he that revealeth secrets maketh known to thee what shall come to pass.

Reflection: Daniel stood before King Nebuchadnezer with all readiness to tell him about his dream and to interpret it. He first of all began by talking about why the King had the dream. According to him, the dream was God’s response to the king’s thoughts. Apparently before he went to sleep, the King had been in deep thoughts about about what was going to happen in the future. Unknowing to him, these thoughts had reached God who then decided to answer him through the dream. Thoughts are discussions held in the mind by an individual. Even though they are noted to be only known by the individual, the experience of Nebuchadnezer conveys to us that our thoughts are not hidden from God. Don’t ever think that your thoughts are with you alone! God is always privy to it and He can choose to react to it as He wills. Watch out!

Prayer: Dear Lord, you are wonderful. You even know the thoughts of my heart!

Confession: God knows my thoughts. I can’t hide it from Him. I will watch what I allow to engage my thoughts.
