Scripture Reading: Joshua 4:12-13
Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said. And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance
Reflection: Caleb was now 85 years of age. For 45 years, he held on to the promise that he will be given the land of Hebron as his inheritance. He could now discern that the time had come for the promise to be fulfilled. He approached Joshua, reminded him of the promise and requested his permission to engage the people of Hebron in battle in order to possess his promised inheritance. With this blessings and approval, Caleb went to war despite his old age and ensured the manifestation of the promise he had held on to. We can see from Caleb’s case that it is not enough to just receive a word of promise. You must hold on to the promise by faith no matter how long it takes and fight (pray) on until you see its manifestation. Even though the promises of God does not fail (2Cor 1:20), you have a role to play to ensure its manifestation. Like Caleb, don’t give up on any promise and prophetic word you have received. Keep up with faith and fight on!
Prayer: Lord I thank you for your promises and prophecies concerning my life. Help me keep up with faith and fight on until each one of them comes to pass.
Confession: Every prophetic promise concerning my life shall come to pass. I will not loose faith as I await their manifestation. I fight on!
