Scripture Reading: Daniel 6:5
Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God

Reflections: Daniel’s adversaries intended to look out for weaknesses and mistakes in his method of work and then use them as evidence against him. When this failed, they resorted to another strategy. This time they got the king to establish a decree that no one should pray to any other god except that of the Babylonians. They knew Daniel would not compromise his faith or give up his God for another god and would go against the decree. It was a neatly woven plan which was sure to succeed. True to their expectations, Daniel damned the consequences of breaking the royal law and went ahead to honour his prayer times. Although he was arrested, he demonstrated that death threats or an opportunity to satisfy his flesh could never influence him. He had an unshakeable and unmovable faith. Like Daniel, don’t ever compromise your faith!

Prayer: Dear Lord, make me unmovable and unshakeable in the faith.

Confession: I am unmovable and unshakeable.
