Scripture Reading: 1 Cor 15:52
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed
Reflections: Paul explains one of the miraculous events that will occur for people who die in the Lord or are alive at the return of the Lord. Our physical bodies will be transformed into magnificent ones. This new body will aid our transportation into heaven (rapture). Since everything is done within a time frame, Paul tries to indicate the duration within which this remarkable incident will occur. He describes it as ‘ a moment and in the twinkling of an eye’. The word ‘moment’ translated from Greek is ‘atomos’. It refers to the smallest possible unit of time, such as a second. ‘Twinkling’ in its Greek rendition is ‘rhipē’. It relates to a jerk of the eye which last for seconds. Thus all it takes for the rapture to occur is amazingly like a second. Using this as an example of a time period for a miracle, you can rest certain that God can fix anything… even in a ‘second’!
Prayer: Oh Lord, I believe you for a one-second miracle!
Confession: God can fix anything… even in a ‘second’
