Saturday, 30th November 2024: Don’t Miss Your Chance to Reflect God’s Provision!

Scripture Reading: 1 Samuel 25:10-11
“And Nabal answered David’s servants, and said, Who is David? and who is the son of Jesse? There be many servants now a days that break away every man from his master. Shall I then take my bread, and my water, and my flesh that I have killed for my shearers, and give it unto men, whom I know not whence they be?

Reflections: In 1 Samuel 25, David and his men found themselves in need of provisions after protecting the livestock of Nabal, a wealthy but selfish man. Instead of recognizing the opportunity to bless David, who would later become king, Nabal responded with arrogance and disregard, missing the chance to be a channel of God’s provision. Later he died. Life often presents us with opportunities to bless others, but these moments may not always appear grand or convenient. Like Nabal, we can be tempted to focus on self-preservation, questioning the worthiness of others or the value of giving away what we’ve worked for. Yet, the story of Nabal reminds us that withholding blessings can lead to missed opportunities to align with God’s purposes. Choose to give and reflect God’s provision and grace.

Prayer: Lord, help me see opportunities to bless others and respond with generosity.

Confession: I will not hold back when I am called to be a blessing.
