Scripture Reading: Dan 11:32
And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits.
Reflections: Daniel’s vision provides us with insight into the anti-Christ’s behaviour. He employs flattery as one of his strategies to persuade people to reject God and compromise divine standards. He won’t be entirely successful, though. A portion of God’s devoted followers will rebuff his coercive methods. Because of their faith in the covenant bond and their understanding of God’s omnipotence, these believers will rise with incredible strength. They will withstand all forms of unrighteousness, steadfastly pledging their loyalty to God and proving it. This narrative teaches us that there will always be those who are devoted to God, even in the face of worldly temptations and the corruption of Christian doctrine and character. Be part of the light that will never go out in this dark world.
Prayer: Oh Lord, let me be one of those who will still shine in this dark world.
Confession: My life as a light in this dark world cannot be put out.
