Scripture Reading: Num 23:21
He hath not beheld iniquity in Jacob, neither hath he seen perverseness in Israel: the LORD his God is with him, and the shout of a king is among them.
Reflections: King Balak contracted Balaam to curse Israel and frustrate God’s plans for them. He failed in his attempts and instead ended up blessing them and proclaiming that they would be victorious because the shout of a king was among them. The people of Israel often connect the kingship of God and His presence with them to a shout (Psalm 47.1-2, Psalm 47:5). The phrase ‘shout of the King’ therefore implies a divine militaristic threat to the enemies of righteousness, signalling that the Lord is a Warrior who leads His people to victory. With the shout of the king in your life, you will never lose any battle. Like Israel, no divination or enchantment can work against you. When any “Balak’ is hired to curse you, they will fail and bless you. The shout of the king is with you! Shout unto him with a voice of triumph!
Confession: Dear Lord, I thank you that your shout as a King is with me. No weapon formed against me shall prosper.
Prayer: The shout of the King is with me. Whoever seeks to curse me shall end up blessing me!
