Scripture Reading: John 2:3-5
And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine. Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come. His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
Reflections:The wedding in Canaan was in session. Jesus and his mother, Mary were part of the invited guests. The wine soon runs out. Mary foresaw the embarrassment that this might cause. Knowing her son was anointed, she asks him to intervene divinely. Jesus initially turned the request down because he had no intention of initiating any miracle. Mary ignored his response of ‘my time has not come’ and proceeds to tell the servants to do whatever Jesus will ask them to do. This moved Jesus into action at once and he miraculously turned water into wine! This intervention boosted the excitement and joy at the wedding. Mary was the architect of this new found joy at the wedding. She had activated the miracle even though Jesus was not ready. IT HAD BEEN ALL UP TO HER. If she had not moved, Jesus would not have moved. Like Mary, it is all up to you! Until you move, God will not move. Make that move of faith now. Indeed it is all up to you!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I know it’s all up to me. Help me to step out in faith to provoke your miracle power into action.
Confession: It’s all up to me! By faith I provoke the miracle working power of God into action.
