Scripture Reading: Matthew 1:24
Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
Reflections: After learning of Mary’s pregnancy, Joseph initially planned to divorce her quietly to avoid public disgrace. However, when the angel of the Lord revealed to him in a dream that the child was conceived by the Holy Spirit and would be the Savior, Joseph chose to obey God’s divine instruction rather than follow his own reasoning or societal expectations.
Joseph’s willingness to give room to divine opinion reminds us of the importance of trusting God, even when His plans defy logic or challenge our understanding. In our lives, we often face situations where our opinions, preferences, or societal norms seem to conflict with God’s instructions. Like Joseph, we must learn to yield to divine opinion, trusting that God’s perspective is higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9). When we embrace God’s wisdom, even when it feels uncomfortable or uncertain, we align ourselves with His greater purpose for our lives and the world around us.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to give room to Your opinion in every area of my life.
Confession: I trust in the wisdom of God and give room to His opinion in all things.
