Scripture Reading:1John 2:26-27
These things have I written unto you concerning them that seduce you. But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in him.
Reflections: ‘Watch out for those who seduce you; the Apostle John admonishes the church without mincing words. ‘You have the anointing to discern these false pastors, so don’t let them get you, he adds on. John was referring to those pastors who deviate from the true faith and yet cunningly maintain a following through seductive means. The word Seductive ‘describes the fascinating magnetic pull someone has that draws you to themselves. When applied to pastors in this context, it refers to those false men/women of God in disguise who seek to lure people into their fold through various seductive mechanisms, which may include unbalanced prosperity messages, miracles, prophecies, healings, etc. Indeed, Seducers are on the loose. They are predators in our pulpits. It would be best if you did not fall prey to them.
Prayer: Oh, Lord, help me to resist the seductive tactics of false pastors.
Confession: By the anointing, I will not be seduced by false pastors!
