Saturday, 25th June 2022: Soberly reflect on your life from time to time!

Scripture Reading: Luke 15:17
And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my fathers have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

Reflections: Life turned out to be what he had never expected. He had left home with so much money (after he had forced his father to give him his inheritance), but now he was in need. So terrible was the condition that he had to work in a pigsty. Things were so bad that he even thought of eating the pigs’ food. Eventually, he returned home, where he apologised to his father and got reinstated to his former glorious status. What made this possible was his ability to ‘come to himself” at a point in time. To ‘come to yourself’ implies taking sober reflection over life events, agreeing with yourself over areas where you have made mistakes and coming up with an affirmative decision to address them. It is therefore critical to learn how to soberly reflect on how you live your life from time to time. This will help you to correct anomalies and remain aligned to the norm.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to reflect on my life from to time soberly so I can take the right actions to remain aligned to your divine will.

Confession: I soberly reflect on my life from to time. I am enabled to take the right actions in life.
