Saturday, 25th January 2020: Unlike the lion, you will never lack any good thing!

Scripture Reading: Psalm 34:10
The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the LORD shall not want any good thing.

Reflections: Due to the strength possessed by a lion it is hardly ever expected that it will fail in its preying tactics and go hungry but this happens sometimes. As a result, a lion with all its strength can still become a destitute. Contrasting the lion’s case with those who seek the Lord, the Psalmist discovers a major difference. Nothing needed is ever kept back from those who seek God. Charles Spurge’s words that a ‘large field is laid before the children of God; a wide door is open, and no man can shut it’ explains it all. It is therefore important to remain a seeker of the Lord. This is simply maintaining the character of forsaking the things of the world and progressing to the state of solely living to please the Lord and depending on Him. Be a God seeker and be better placed in life than a lion. You will never lack any good thing!

Prayer: Oh Lord, give me grace never to veer off the path of seeking you.

Confession: I am a God seeker. I do not lack any good thing!
