Saturday, 24th June 2017: There is divine judgment for your enemies!

Scripture  Reading: Psalm 9:16
The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.

Reflections: David takes time to praise God for operating a throne of judgment. He is full of adoration for his maker for judging right all the time. God’s judgment, for instance, which ensures that the wicked is ensnared in the work of their own hands, is one of the features of divine judgment that is of primary interest to David. How else can the wicked know of the existence and supremacy of our God if He does not cause them to be caught up and destroyed by their own evil plans, David concludes. The events in the book of Esther is a classical case in point. In the story, Haman planned to exterminate the Jews and to hang Mordecai by the gallows. But by divine judgment, the plot was overturned and Haman found his head in the gallows instead ( Esther 7:10). Indeed God judges rightly! Like David, you must also take time to praise God for the judgments he executes! By divine judgment, your enemies will also be ensnared by their own wicked plans which they plot against your life.

Prayer: Oh Lord arise and judge evil workers in my life. Let them be ensnared by their own traps and wicked plans. Let them know my God is supreme.

Confession: My God will make Himself known through His divine judgments. By His judgments, my enemies will be ensnared by their own wicked plans and they will know that my God is supreme!
