Scripture Reading: Ecc 9:16 Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard
Reflection: The city came under an attack by a great king. The King surrounded it, and built massive siege ramps against it. It all looked set up for this King to achieve his aim of annexing this city to his territories but a poor man in the city came to the rescue of his people. He did not use his strength to fight but applied his wisdom to work. By the wise strategy he deployed, his city was saved from the attack. King Solomon pondered over this event and concluded that wisdom is better than strength. By this, Solomon brings to us the importance of developing strategies to combat challenges in life. This is an aspect of wisdom you must not miss in life. Even boxers in the ring competing for titles do not only use their strength. They seek to device a strategy which will help them quickly overcome their opponents. Your ability ‘to think and act in such a way that the choices and judgments you make become beneficial and productive’ will largely determine the success you achieve in life. Surely Wisdom is better than strength! You will win in life by wisdom.
Prayer: Dear Lord, please make me a wise person.
Confession: I am full of wisdom. I think before I act. I develop winning strategies and apply them to situations. I win by wisdom.
