Scripture Reading: Deut 2:25
This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the nations that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear report of thee, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of thee.
Reflection: It was time to engage Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon in warfare and to dispossess him of the land. God assured Israel of victory and gives them a hint about why this victory was going to be possible. He was going to get the Amorites and and all other nations they were required to contend with to be filled with fear. ‘ I will put the dread and fear of thee upon the nations’. God told them. ‘ They shall tremble and be in anguish because of thee’, God concluded. Certainly if fear should grip your enemies before they engage you in warfare, psychologically they would have lost the war and this will place them in a position where physically they will surely encounter defeat. This is what God does to our enemies. He places our fear and dread over them. They therefore shake with fear when they see us. It is time to know this advantage God has given you and use it to win any battle that confronts you. Yes you have been given a divine advantage. You are positioned to win any battle in life.
Prayer: Oh Lord, put my fear and dread upon all my enemies. Let them shake and fear as I engage them in battle.
Confession: I am positioned to win any battle in life. My fear and dread is upon my enemies. They shake with fear because me.
