Saturday, 21st October 2023: Be faithful!

Scripture Reading:Hebrews 3:2 Who was faithful to him that appointed him, as also Moses was faithful in all his house

Reflections: The writer of Hebrews emphasises the need to strive for Christlikeness if we claim to be holy and partakers of the heavenly calling. He highlights faithfulness as an integral part of Christlikeness by showing how Christ responded faithfully to his calling on earth. This means that you cannot claim to be Christlike if you are not faithful in fulfilling your tasks in God’s house or life. The word ‘faithful’ comes from the Greek adjective ‘pistos,’ which denotes trustworthiness and reliability in executing commands or discharging duties. In essence, faithful people do not make excuses when carrying out what they have agreed to do. Being faithful implies long-continued and steadfast loyalty to one’s pledge, duty, or obligation. To be Christlike, you must embrace faithfulness, an inseparable component of Christlikeness.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me to be faithful.
Confession: I am faithful in discharging any duties assigned me.
