Scripture Reading: Micah 2:1-2
Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds! when the morning is light, they practise it, because it is in the power of their hand.
And they covet fields, and take them by violence; and houses, and take them away: so they oppress a man and his house, even a man and his heritage.
Reflection: The prophet Micah unequivocally states in his prophecy that ‘ Woe to them that devise iniquity, and work evil upon their beds’. By this he sheds light on one of the modus operandi of evil people. They devise and work out evil schemes against their victims in the night whiles they are asleep. When day breaks, the effect of what they did in the night begins to manifest as a natural occurrence which ends up bringing their victims under bondage and oppression. You must not allow this evil to be worked out against you. You must pronounce judgment on all such actions. By stating that ‘ woe to them that devise iniquity’, Micah was actually pronouncing divine judgment on perpetrators of this evil scheme. The word ‘woe’ simply means big problems and troubles. You must also declare that anytime people rise up in the night to devise their evil schemes against you, big problems, troubles and sorrows should visit them right in the act! Go ahead and make this divine judgement. You shall walk in liberty and not in bondage.
Prayer: Oh Lord, cause whatever that is schemed up in the night to resist my life at day time never to stand in Jesus name.
Confession: Anytime any evil man/woman rises up in the night to devise their evil schemes against me, big problems, troubles and sorrows will visit them right in the act and they shall fail in their activities.
