Scripture Reading: Proverbs 30:5
Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.
Reflections: Life requires dependence on others. However, these reliable components can fail, causing sadness and regret. The Proverbs writer, however, finds out that God’s word is the only unfailing dependable factor. He describes it as ‘pure’. The Hebrew term “tsâraph”, translated as ‘pure’ refers to gold that has been tested and proven. This establishes its trust and dependability. God’s word created the world. Like gold, interestingly, God’s word has been tested by events and men since creation and shown to be immutable and unfailing in what it is mandated to do. God’s word is therefore the one thing you can count on most in this life. Just don’t let go of it!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that your word is faithful. Help me depend on it all the time.
Confession: God’s word doesn’t fail!
