Scripture Reading: John 15:16
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.
Reflections: As a child of God, you have been chosen and ordained. Chosen is a translation of the Greek eklego, meaning to pick out for oneself out of the lot’. The implication among others is that as a child of God, you have been selected to enjoy divine blessings. On the other hand, to be ordained is to be appointed to a task. This implies every child of God has something to do to advance the work of the kingdom of God on earth. It is therefore important to always remember that you are not meant only to access the manifold blessings of God in life but more importantly to respond unwaveringly to what you have been assigned to do by God. Primarily this involves soul winning and discipleship as well as taking up responsibilities in your local church to support its operations and growth. Keep walking as a chosen and ordained vessel of God!
Prayer: Dear Lord, I am grateful to be chosen and ordained by you. Help me to bear fruit that remains.
Confession: I am not just chosen but ordained. I work to advance the kingdom of God.
