Saturday, 20th August 2016: Let your desire to be clothed with a new body never wane!

Scripture Reading: 2 Cor 5: 1-2
For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven:

Reflection: The Apostle Paul sheds light on one of the key things that the church must never forget and keep looking forward to- our clothing with a new body! He informs the church that ‘our body—the tent we currently live in here on earth—will be destroyed’ one day. Nonetheless we will not be left ‘ naked’ but be clothed with a new and glorious body prepared directly from heaven. This body, he continues, is the body that will live forever! Thoughts of having this new body one day is what took the center stage of the lives of the early Apostles and urged them to unwaveringly accomplish their assignments on this earth. You must consciously keep in mind that one day you will also live forever in a new body. This thought will make such an impact on your life and keep you focused on weightier matters necessary to help you make it to heaven. Don’t ever loose sight of the coming new body! Let your desire to be clothed with it never wane! The coming new body is indeed a done deal (1Corinthians 15:42–53).

Prayer: Dear Lord, I thank you that one day I shall be clothed with a new body. May I never loose sight of this!

Confession: A new body is indeed prepared for me in heaven. One day I will exit this vile body for this incomparable glorified body. My desire to be clothed with a new body will never wane!
