Scripture Reading:1 Samuel 3:8-9
And the LORD called Samuel again the third time. And he arose and went to Eli, and said, Here am I; for thou didst call me. And Eli perceived that the LORD had called the child. Therefore Eli said unto Samuel, go, lie down: and it shall be, if he call thee, that thou shalt say, Speak, LORD; for thy servant heareth. So Samuel went and lay down in his place.
Reflections: Samuel was destined to become a notable Prophet of God in his generation. His life and ministry was going to help bridge the gap between God and His people. However he knew nothing about all these as he got ready to sleep on that fateful day. While on his bed, he heard a voice calling him. This happened three times. On each of the occasions, he thought it was Eli, High Priest of Shiloh calling but the Priest made him understand that he wasn’t the one. On the third call, Eli discerned that the voice was that of God. He informed Samuel about it and told him what to do should the voice call again. As Samuel responded to the voice as instructed by Eli, he was now able to start communing with God regarding the nation. The occasion marked the beginning of his prophetic ministry. Samuel thus owed it all to Eli who did not withhold that vital information needed to launch him into his prophetic destiny. Like Samuel, God will give you an ‘Eli’ who will provide any vital information or help you need to enable you step into your destiny and achieve your purpose in life.
Prayer: Oh Lord, Let not my ‘Eli’ withhold any vital information or help I need in life!
Confession: I have access to any destiny information and help I need.
