Scripture Reading: Acts 28:8-9 (KJV)
And it came to pass, that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and of a bloody flux: to whom Paul entered in, and prayed, and laid his hands on him, and healed him. So when this was done, others also, which had diseases in the island, came, and were healed.”
Reflections: Paul had just survived a violent storm and a shipwreck, only to be bitten by a venomous snake. Yet, instead of being overwhelmed by his circumstances, he remained available for God’s work. When he learned that the father of Publius was sick, he prayed for him and healed him. Soon, many others came seeking healing, and God’s power was revealed through Paul. Difficult conditions often make us feel unqualified or unable to serve God, but Paul’s example teaches us otherwise. He had every reason to focus on his own troubles—shipwrecked, cold, and stranded in an unfamiliar place—yet he still allowed God to use him. Your challenges do not disqualify you from being used by God; rather, they position you as a vessel for His glory. Even in trials, your hands can bring healing, your words can bring hope, and your faith can inspire others.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, help me to remain available for Your work, no matter what challenges I face.
Confession: I remain available for God’s work, no matter what challenges I face.
