Scripture Reading: Hosea 1:10 Yet the number of the children of Israel shall be as the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured nor numbered; and it shall come to pass, that in the place where it was said unto them, Ye are not my people, there it shall be said unto them, Ye are the sons of the living God
Reflections: Isreal had become so immersed in excess sin that God had to abandon them. To highlight their stubbornness and justify their punishment, God arranged for Prophet Hosea to marry and have children with a prostitute who, despite her husband’s love and admonishing, would refuse to repent from prostitution. This union produced three offspring, the names of whom God chose to signify how Israel would be condemned and chastised. Despite God’s prophetic plans to chastise Israel, God notified Hosea of his agenda to restore Israel to their place as sons of the living God. No matter how far you stray from God onto the path of sin, and no matter what consequences God allows you to experience, He still makes room for you to return to his fold. God’s love for you is exceptional. Never take it for granted.
