Scripture Reading: Matthew 14:30
“But when he saw the wind, he was afraid; and beginning to sink, he cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’”
Reflections: This verse comes from the story of Peter walking on water toward Jesus. As long as Peter focused on Jesus, he was able to do the miraculous—walk on the water in the midst of a storm. However, the moment he shifted his attention to the strong wind and waves, fear took over, and he began to sink. This account teaches us a profound lesson: what we focus on determines our ability to overcome challenges. The “wind” represents the distractions, fears, and challenges we face in life. When we take our eyes off Jesus and fixate on the problems around us, doubt creeps in, and we begin to falter. Keep your eyes fixed on Christ, trusting Him as the source of your strength and victory.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me to keep my eyes fixed on You.
Confession: I will not be consumed by fear or distracted by life’s challenges. My eyes are fixed on Jesus, and I walk by faith, not by sight.
