Scripture Reading: Heb 10:3-5
But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year. For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:
Reflections: People used to sacrifice bulls and goats to atone for their sins before Christ’s death and resurrection. This practise was repeated annually, yet it did not address the core source of sin. When Jesus came, He offered His own flesh in place of the annual animal sacrifice. This deed crushed the nature of sin, and negated the yearly animal sacrifice. Through Jesus, people could now approach God and be reconciled to Him. One lesson derived from the intervention of Jesus is that, while there may be a remedy to an issue, finding a long-term solution that addresses the core cause rather than just managing the problem on a regular basis is critical. It is best to look for long-lasting solutions under the direction of the Holy Ghost.
Prayer: Lord, help me find and apply long-term solutions to life’s issues.
Confession: I go for long-term solutions.
