Saturday, 18th December 2021: Believe God for the impossible!

Scripture Reading: Psalm 114:7-8
Tremble, thou earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob; Which turned the rock into a standing water, the flint into a fountain of waters.

Reflections: The journey had been long and tiring. At this point in the wilderness, they needed water badly to quench their thirst. They saw a rock before them. It appeared so irrelevant to their needs. What they actually needed was a fountain of water to quench their thirst. As Moses prayed to God for a divine intervention, God turned his attention to the seemingly irrelevant rock. God asked him to command water to come out of it. As Moses complied to the order, the rock produced a fountain of water to address the needs of the entire multitude! ( Exodus 17:5-6). What is irrelevant and insignificant around you can be used by God to address your need. Indeed at a time of need, a ‘rock’ in your life can become your ‘fountain of water’. Believe God for the impossible!

Prayer: Oh Lord, let me see a ‘rock’ in my life become my source of ‘drinking water’.

Confession: All ‘rocks’ in my life will be turned around into ‘a fountain of water’.
