Scripture Reading:
Jos 1:9-10 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest. Then Joshua commanded the officers of the people, saying,
Reflection: He had been in the position of a servant for a long time. Now his master, Moses was dead and gone. There was still work to be done in getting the people of Israel to possess Canaan. When the lot fell on him to take over from his master, Joshua knew the task ahead of him was no joke. Battles had to be fought. The stubborn nature of his own people needed to be contained as well. The nature of the task was enough to intimidate any leader and stop the person from taking any initiative. But as soon as he was admonished by the Lord to be strong and be of good courage, he moved to work immediately. He did not debate the words of the Lord at all. He immediately commanded the officers to prepare the people for advancement into the territory of the enemies. Nothing became impossible for him. He conquered the cities of Canaan and divided it among Israel as their inheritance. As long as you don’t debate what God tells you, you will find yourself on the path where nothing is impossible for you. Like Joshua, get moving on the basis of God’s word.
Prayer: Dear Lord, help me not to subject your word to any form of debate. Let me just trust and obey you, no matter what.
Confession: I don’t debate any word from God. I always act on the basis of what He tells me. My life is crowned with success.
