Scripture Reading: Ezra 1:1
Now in the first year of Cyrus, king of Persia, in order that the word of the Lord given by the mouth of Jeremiah might come true, the spirit of Cyrus, king of Persia, was moved by the Lord, so that he made a public statement through all his kingdom, and put it in writing, saying,
Reflections: Jeremiah foretold that the land would become desolate and that the Jews would serve the king of Babylon for seventy years (Jeremiah 25:11). He said that after the seventy years were up, God will cause them to “return to Jerusalem” (Jeremiah 29:10). As he predicted, the Jews were taken into captivity. Now the seventieth year had passed. The remaining question was how God would bring his people back to Jerusalem. This was still a mystery, but God had a scheme up his sleeve. He inspired King Cyrus to write a proclamation permitting the Jews’ departure from Babylon. It was incredible to witness a king offer his vassals freedom so easily! When God stirs the hearts of individuals to favor your life, they will have no choice but to do so. To stir someone’s heart is to persuade them to perform as intended. Similar to Israel, God will arouse the hearts of your destiny helpers.
Prayer: Dear Lord, please stir up the heart of my destiny helpers so they will get to work.
Confession: Those who will help me walk in my prophetic destiny shall be stirred up by God.
