Scripture Reading: Matt 7:24
Therefore, whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Reflections: Jesus emphasized that merely listening to His teachings is insufficient; to enter the kingdom, one must also put them into practice. He illustrated this point with the parable of the wise builder, who constructs their house on a rock, weathering the storm. The Greek word “phronimos,” translated as “wise,” describes this builder, who exemplifies foresight, intentional action, and practical application. Phronimos embodies a life of thoughtful preparation, grounded in careful consideration of available information. Don’t just passively accept crucial truths about life and godliness; instead, actively integrate them into your life, building a secure foundation for your future.
Prayer: Oh Lord, help me integrate crucial truths about life and godliness into my life.
Confession: I am wise.
