Scripture Reading: Neh 2:10 When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it, it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.
Reflections: Finally, Nehemiah arrived to advance the welfare of the Israelites, eager for his assistance. He empathised with their helplessness and reproach and was determined to restore their city’s ruins and alter their fortunes for good. Sanbalat and Tobias were displeased that Nehemiah had come to pursue Israel’s well-being, so they opposed his arrival. Despite their schemes, Nehemiah and the Israelites swiftly defeated them. People like Sanbalat and Tobias, who will always oppose positive change in your life, must be kept in mind. They are impediments to anything that seeks to advance your well-being, so you must be swift to resist them. The evil and negative expectations of those who don’t wish you well must perish and scatter.
