Saturday, 16th May 2020: He makes the impossible possible!

Scripture Reading: Act 7:9-10 And the patriarchs, moved with envy, sold Joseph into Egypt: but God was with him, And delivered him out of all his afflictions, and gave him favour and wisdom in the sight of Pharaoh king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.

Reflections: Joseph had two dreams indicative of his glorious destiny. In both dreams it was clear that he was going to be a very prominent person. His brothers did not take kindly to this and out of envy got rid of him by selling him to Ishmaelite traders. Although they thought they had ended his dreams, God was with him. God’s presence made a way for him to rise up in the land of Egypt from a position of a slave to that of a prime minister. His brothers visited and ended up bowing down to him just as he had seen in his two dreams (Genesis 42:5-7). It does not matter what people may do against you. What you most need in life is the presence of God. For strategic reasons, this may not stop you from encountering hardships but is sure to bring you out in a grand way. Paul’s words ‘if God be for us who can be against us’ tells it all (Romans 8:31). Like Joseph, as long as God is with you, you will make it! God will end up making the impossible possible in your life!

Prayer: Dear Lord, please abide with me all the time.

Confession: I do not focus on whether people like me or not. I concentrate on cultivating the presence of God
