Saturday, 15th April 2017: If you forget the WORD of God, you will stray away from His expectation!

Scripture Reading: Luke 24:
He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee, Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again. And they remembered his words.

Reflection: Mary Magdalene and other women rushed to his tomb to apply spices over his dead body. To their utter amazement they found the tomb empty. All the spices they had gathered was therefore a complete waste. As they wondered what might have happened, two angels appeared. These angels were really surprised to see them. ‘You can not look for the living among the dead’, one of the angels told them. He is risen like he told you, he concluded. So it was clear that the disciples had completely forgotten about the words of Jesus concerning his resurrection from the dead on the third day {Matthew 16:21}. It was all a wrong move to have come all the way to spice up his body. It was indeed a waste of time. Anytime you forget the word of the Lord, you stray away from His expectations. Just endeavor to keep the word of God alive in your heart and save yourself from unprofitable and unnecessary ventures. Happy Easter!

Prayer: Oh Lord, help me to remember and to hold on only to your words and promises.

Confession: The word of God is kept alive in my heart. I will not forget it. I will be moved and led only by it.
