Saturday, 14th December 2024: For God, Not Man!

Scripture Reading: 2 Samuel 6:20-21
“David said to Michal, ‘It was before the LORD, who chose me rather than your father or anyone from his house when he appointed me ruler over the LORD’s people Israel—I will celebrate before the LORD.’”

Reflections: David’s joyful worship during the Ark’s return to Jerusalem showed his deep love and gratitude to God. His wife, Michal, mocked him, accusing him of being undignified. But David stood firm, saying his worship was for God, not people. This story reminds us that true worship comes from a grateful heart and should be focused on God, not on seeking approval from others. We must not let the opinions of people stop us from giving God our best. Like David, let us worship freely and sincerely, knowing God values our wholehearted devotion.

Prayer: Lord, help me to worship You without fear or worry about others’ opinions.

Confession: I will worship the Lord with all my heart, focused only on Him.
