Saturday, 13th January 2024: You will come out of that tight corner!

Scripture Reading: Psalm 118:5
I called upon the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me and set me in a large place.

Reflections: The Psalmist recalls being in distress and crying out to God for assistance. ‘Metsar’ is the Hebrew word for distress. It means to be squeezed in or tightly held up. A condition like this will cause agony and anguish in one’s life. The Psalmist goes on to say that as a consequence of his petition, God intervened on his behalf and placed him in a “large place.” In Hebrew, the expression “large place’ is’merchâb’. It speaks of expanding a space in order to find the freedom to flee. Like the Psalmist, God will create that open space for your breakthroughs to occur. You will come out of that tight corner!

Prayer: Oh God, create that open space for my breakthroughs to occur.

Confession: God has brought me into open space! I am out of that tight corner!
