Saturday, 11th June 2022: Maintain a heart that defies intimidation in life!

Scripture Reading: 1Sam 17:26 And David spake to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that killeth this Philistine, and taketh away the reproach from Israel? Who is this uncircumcised Philistine that he should defy the armies of the living God?

Reflections: The looks and voice of Goliath intimidated the rank and file of the army of Israel for days until David arrived. His arrival coincided with one of the rantings of Goliath. As the soldiers of Israel quaked with fear and sought to run away, David remained calm. He did not allow himself to be intimidated. He confidently asked if there was any reward for the one who could call off the bluff of Goliath, whom he described as an uncircumcised Philistine. It was clear that David could not just be intimidated. This attitude consequently became the launching pad for his heroic battle with Goliath, which saw him killing the giant. Until you refuse to be intimidated, you may never be a winner. Intimidation is an intentional behaviour to induce fear into a person. The aim is to persuade that person to do something they do do not wish to do. Once you refuse to be intimidated, you will do as you want and not as the intimidator wants. Maintain a heart that defies intimidation in life.

Prayer: Oh Lord, give me the heart that defies intimidation in life.

Confession: I refuse to be intimidated in life.
