Monday, 7th November 2022: Be patient!

Scripture Reading: Acts 7:40-41
Saying unto Aaron, Make us gods to go before us: for as for this Moses, which brought us out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him. And they made a calf in those days, and offered sacrifice unto the idol, and rejoiced in the works of their own hands.

Reflections: Nearly 40 days had passed since Moses left the camp to the mountain top to receive the 10 commandments from God. Israel wondered what might have happened to him. They grew impatient and could no longer wait. In their thoughts they failed to consider that there was no way God was going leave them stranded without their leader. In their frustrations stemmed from impatience, they subscribed to satanic worship. They bowed down to golden calf they had made and claimed this was their God. They also had sex indiscriminately with each other. This was a complete abandonment of the worship of God. Like the people of Israel, impatience can cause you to make regrettable decisions. Impatience is when you can’t wait too long for something or someone. In such moments, you easily get irritated and respond to issues in a way which can take you out of the will of God. It is important therefore to cultivate the virtue of patience. Without it, you can mess up just like the people of Israel.

Prayer: Dear Lord, help me do away with impatience in life.

Confession: I am patient in life.
