Scripture Reading:Luke 10:41-42
And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her

Reflections: While Martha was busy preparing meals to serve Jesus, her sister Mary chose to sit at his feet and listen to his teachings. Martha became upset with her sister for not helping, but Jesus explained that Mary had made the right choice. He emphasized that listening to the word of God and learning from him is more important than just providing service. Therefore, we can conclude that true discipleship is not only about serving the Master but more about seeking opportunities to learn from him to become more like him. We should follow Mary’s example and make a conscious effort to encounter God through daily Bible study and reading. This practice has the power to transform us, to make us more like our Master, Jesus. Our spiritual growth should be our top priority as we strive to become true disciples of Christ.
